NeCoMan: Middleware for Safe Distributed-Service Adaptation in Programmable Networks
نویسندگان
چکیده
Programmable networks let third parties dynamically reprogram the network elements. By opening the execution environment of routers, firewalls, base stations, and so on, users and service providers can adapt the behavior of these network elements to meet their own needs. Programmable networks are therefore an interesting technology for building adaptive networks as well as for supporting the evolution of networking software.1

Dynamic Software Reconfiguration in Programmable Networks
Programmable networks allow third parties to reprogram networking devices. By opening up the execution environment of routers, firewalls, gateways, etc., users and service providers can adapt the behavior of these devices to meet their own specific needs. Programmable networks are therefore an interesting technology to build adaptive networks and to support the increasing evolution of networkin...
متن کاملProgramming QOS in Mobile Multimedia Networks
This paper presents an open programmable middleware platform for mobile multimedia networking called mobiware. Built on advanced distributed object technology including active objects, proxies and agents, mobiware, dynamically exploits the intrinsic scalable properties of multimedia content by responding to time-varying wireless and mobile QOS conditions. At the core of mobiware lies a novel ad...
متن کاملProgrammable mobile networks
Existing mobile systems (e.g., mobile IP, mobile ATM and third generation cellular systems) lack the intrinsic architectural flexibility to deal with the complexity of supporting adaptive mobile applications in wireless and mobile environments. We believe that there is a need to develop alternative network architectures from the existing ones to deal with the demands placed on underlying mobile...
متن کاملAn Open Programmable Mobile Network: Design, Implementation and Evaluation
We present the design, implementation and evaluation of an open programmable mobile network based on distributed object technology called mobiware that dynamically exploits the intrinsic scalable properties of adaptive mobile applications. There is growing consensus that adaptive techniques present a viable approach to countering time varying quality of service (QOS) impairments in wireless and...
متن کاملAccess control in ultra-large-scale systems using a data-centric middleware
The primary characteristic of an Ultra-Large-Scale (ULS) system is ultra-large size on any related dimension. A ULS system is generally considered as a system-of-systems with heterogeneous nodes and autonomous domains. As the size of a system-of-systems grows, and interoperability demand between sub-systems is increased, achieving more scalable and dynamic access control system becomes an im...
